Kind Karma

Day 142: Kind Karma

“The love we give away is the only love we keep.” Elbert Hubbard

In other words, we get what we give. Whatever energy, kindness, quality and time we give, we will receive in return. I have a hunch that this applies to the thoughts we think as well. If we have a head full of negative thoughts, how can we be fully present in our kindness? I have to admit, I still catch a negative thought here or there, but rather than berate myself for falling back into old patterns, I simply think a positive thought. Most of the time that works, unless of course it is a deeper pattern, and in that case I give myself time to explore the thought and the space and time to heal.

By having kind thoughts, we will create kind beliefs about ourselves and others. Kind beliefs will soon shape our world and a kindness will shine out and touch those around us. That is Kind Karma.

Kind Thoughts

Day 100: Kind Thoughts

“Kind souls think kind thoughts, do kind acts and say kind words.” – Anthony Douglas Williams

Today is the 100th day of 365 Days of Kindness for me. I have attempted to be kind, have not always been successful, however, I can feel the scales are leaning towards the creation of a kind soul. I have discovered along this journey that no matter how much I wanted kindness to come to me from out there, kindness had to come from me, from within. That is what I practice everyday.

On this 100th day of kindness, try thinking and saying 100 kind thoughts about yourself, others and any one you come in contact with today. If your immediate thought is not kind, just take a moment, throw out the negative thought, and replace it with one of kindness. It really works. Today, when I got a little frustrated in the Wholefoods parking lot, I decided to send my love to all the people in the the lot. It only took a moment to change my thought, but it changed my soul, softened it, and allowed for me to have a wonderful shopping experience. We are just talking about thoughts here, and thoughts can be changed so very easily! Notice the thoughts in your head and when they are unkind, especially to yourself, stop, change the thought, and change your soul.

With an abundance of kindness,

The Kind Mind

Day 71: The Kind Mind

“Kind hearts are the gardens. Kind thoughts are the roots. Kind words are the flowers. Kind deeds are the fruits.” – Unknown

Have you given much thought to your thoughts lately? If you were to observe your thoughts for an entire day, would most of the thoughts be kind? Maybe an entire day is not necessary, try for just one hour to observe the thoughts that run through your mind. Examine your thoughts by first becoming aware and then notice how those thoughts make you feel. Do you feel the thoughts in your body? Where? And if so, do those thoughts eventually influence your words and actions towards yourself and others.

We become what we think, whether we intend to or not.

Kindness to Self:

The first step is awareness of our thought patterns and then from there, we can begin to encourage ourselves to have more positive thoughts through acknowledging the negative thought patterns, but not attaching to them, and eventually letting go and replacing with positive and kind thoughts.

Kindness to Others:

If we can create and operate from a kind heart, we will deepen our roots and trust with our loved ones. Through our kind thoughts, kind words will become routine and we will live and share a life that is thoughtful, kind and loving. We will encourage those around us to blossom with kindness though our kind words and actions.

Kindness to Strangers:

Having kind thoughts, words and actions will benefit everyone we come in contact with. The people around us, whether known or unknown will benefit from the fruits of our kindness through everyday kind acts.

Kindness to Our Planet:

Go out and plant a tree. Winter is the perfect time (at least in California) to plant a bare root fruit tree. However, if it is not the proper time or you do not have the yard to plant a tree, you can donate to Plant A Billion Trees Campaign.
