Day 119: Healing Through Kindness
“Every time you heal yourself, you heal the world. The greatest service you can give to the world is to heal yourself so deeply that love, compassion, and goodwill flow easily from within you to all the world and its beings.” – Yung Pueblo
Amen! I’m not sure I need to add anything.
This quote resonates with me deep into my soul and describes the very essence of my journey to find kindness. Admittedly, I did not start out understanding that in order to have kindness in my life it needed to begin with me. And not just from me, but from deep within where the trauma, fear, worry, anger and resentment were lying. I now understand much more deeply the quote I included on my very first post:
Be the Change “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” – Gandhi.
I am not perfect, never will be, but I have to say, the more kindness that pours from me, the more that is returned.
Anytime you are tempted to give unsolicited advice or the urge to want to change someone else, look in the mirror, look deep within yourself and see where you can change. We can spend a lifetime wishing and trying to change the people around us, but it will have been a waste of time, and perhaps a life.
With Kindness,
