Day 99: Magnet for Kindness
“Like a magnet, we draw in what we constantly think about. If you are always thinking positive, happy, joyful thoughts you’re going to be a happy, positive, joyful person, and you will attract other happy, upbeat, positive people.” – Joel Osteen
I spent the day practicing kindness, happy thoughts, and even blessing the strangers on the very crowded commuter train this morning. It was so crowded that this man was squishing his rear into me, I was uncomfortable to say the least, so I closed my eyes and and said to myself, “I now create plenty of space for all of us on this train and I send all of you love and kindness.” I know it sounds a bit crazy, but I’m really digging this positive affirmation thing. It worked. Within a minute, I did not even notice how close he was to me, and a few stops later, I was able to move a bit and I had “plenty” of space. The point is, I could have spent 10 minutes being miserable and uncomfortable, but instead decided to practice kind thoughts and affirmations. And you know what? I had an amazing day filled with only kind people and kind interactions. Maybe its the law of attraction, maybe its the positive affirmations, maybe its just a simple change in perspective, but whatever the reason, it is working, and I am experiencing an abundance of kindness all around.
Kindness to Self:
We can start each and everyday telling ourselves that we are kind and full of kindness, because we are.
Kindness to Others and to Strangers:
When we find ourselves in uncomfortable or difficult situations with loved ones or strangers, we can take a mental time out and create a space for what we want, whether that is love, kindness, patience, or a positive experience. We hold the power within to create whatever situation we desire, or at the very least how we respond to a given situation. Choose Kindness!
Kindness to Our Planet:
We live in a beautiful world, whether we live in a city, suburbs, mountains or countryside, beauty is abound and abundant. Take a few minutes today and everyday to be grateful and notice all the wonders that surround us.
With Love and Kindness,
