Kind Creations

Day 98: Kind Creations

“Each of us tends to think we see things as they are, that we are objective. But this is not the case. We see the world, not as it is, but as we are – or as we are conditioned to see it.” – Stephen Covey

“Every thought we think is creating our future.” – Louise Hay

All of the wise sages and teachers tell us that what we think and how we feel create the world around us. Essentially what we think becomes what we believe and what we believe becomes what we create. If this is true, we can create what we want. We literally can have anything we put our minds to so long as we really think it and believe it. We have the choice to create positive thoughts and beliefs or negative thoughts and beliefs. Listen to that inner voice and reteach it if necessary. Without realizing it, I have already been practicing a little version of positive thinking and creation.

My friend introduced me to the concept of parking fairies. Sounds silly, I know. It’s very much like what we all learned from the book and movie: The Secret. If we think in the present moment and already believe that there is the perfect parking spot right in front, waiting for us, it will be there. My kids used to think asking the parking fairies for help was both ridiculous and quite embarrassing, especially when I asked in front of their friends. They mocked and laughed and said I was crazy. They begged me to stop talking about the parking fairies, especially in front of their friends. I ignored them, I continue to ask the fairies out loud and proud, to provide me with the perfect spot, and 99.9% of the time I get one.

Now I know this is only a parking spot we are talking about, but what if we applied the same practice to anything and everything in life. Since I have been practicing positive affirmations over the last week, things have moved very quickly in a positive direction for me. I have been trying to reenter a career path I left 13 years ago to raise the children. It has not been an easy journey for many reasons, until I decided to apply a positive affirmation to the situation. I stated: “I now create a new and amazing career for myself.” I said this everyday, several times a day for a week, and very quickly I was offered a contract position with an amazing company that may turn into a long term career for me.

It is very strange and new for me, to think positively. I have always seen what could go wrong instead of what could go right, because of my upbringing and the messages I received as a child. I had no idea how hard wired the negative messages were, until I started rewiring the negative thoughts into positive affirmations. What I am learning about affirmations and creating the things we want, is to state them in the present or as if they already exists. It has only been a week of rewiring, but already pretty miraculous! Imagine all of the wonderful and positive things  we can create just by putting my mind to it. Kindness, Love, Career, Passion, Abundance, really anything.

With Kindness,
