Kindly Finding Hope

Day 70: Kindly Finding Hope

“I have always believed that hope is that stubborn thing inside of us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting.” – Barack Obama

Finding hope when there does not seem to be any is so much easier said than done. When we have lost our direction in life or we are experiencing a difficult time, it can seem lonely and hopeless. We may find ourselves in the grips of fear or despair. It is during these times that we need to kindly find the courage to reach out for help, love and support. We need to work hard to find the lessons and gifts in the situation. We also need to keep fighting for ourselves, our beliefs and for our truths. If we can find the courage to do all those things, we are living in hope and through that hope, we can find that better does await us.

Kindness to Self:

When we cannot find the hope on our own and within, try reaching out to a trusted friend. If we are willing to be vulnerable and honest, that friend will help you find hope.

Kindness to Others:

Offering our friendship, time and attention to our loved ones when they are without hope is a blessing and an honor. Go out of your way to check in with the people in your life and see if anyone is in need of some extra encouragement, hope and kindness.

Kindness to Strangers:

Reaching out and offering our help, our encouragement and our hope to those people that are struggling, whether through an organization, church or volunteer group, is the ultimate form of kindness. Need ideas? Check out VolunteerMatch.org

Kindness to Our Planet:

Keep finding hope that our planet will continue to provide all of the resources we are used to, but if you want to really help, check out a few organizations where you can offer your time or money.
