Day 55: Kindly Finding Inner Strength
“Look well in to thyself; there is a source of strength which will always spring up if thou wilt always look.” – Marcus Aurelius
Do you tend to see other people’s strengths, but have a hard time seeing your own? When it comes to weaknesses, do you see yours rather than your strengths? Which in you has a louder voice? Your cheerleader or your critic?
If we find and own our achievements and strengths and focus our energy there rather than focusing on our flaws and weaknesses we will certainly soar! We all have a special purpose in life where our special talents and strengths will shine, we just have to look within.
Kindness to Self:
As we enter into this new year, full of new possibilities, goal and intention setting, do you know your strengths? Do you remind yourself often what they are? Try writing down all your strengths, fill an entire page. Keep it handy, and when you begin to feel down or that sense of lacking that can creep in, pull out that list and read it.
Kindness to Others:
Can you find the strength to be a cheerleader to all of those people around you? Encourage your friends and loved ones to find their strengths and be a person who kindly helps others see them.
Kindness to Strangers:
Finding strength in strangers may seem a bit weird at first thought, but have you ever found yourself in a new place, at a seminar or some other social setting where you felt the strength of a stranger, and you just had to meet them and find out why they glow with inner-strength? Maybe you have been that person that another found inspiring and asked you where your inner-strength comes from. Knowing, owning and operating from a place of inner strength will certainly attract others and hopefully influence them to find theirs.
Kindness to Our Planet:
Finding strength for our planet is so necessary. I am always pleasantly thrilled when I learn about a new organization that fights for preservation of our precious resources. Check out these sites about rainforest preservation: The Rainforest Action Network & Rainforest Foundation UK
