Day 23: Kindness is an Attitude
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” – Maya Angelou
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just wake up with a bad attitude or worse, I let the moods of others affect me. Almost as if I’m a sponge instead of a woman. There are situations where I can quickly spring myself out of the depths and other times where I get stuck there for a while, wallowing in my own bad attitude. It is never fun to have a bad attitude, it is rather boring and quite indulgent. This is especially evident when seen in others. How handy would it be if we could see what a waste of time and energy it is to have a bad attitude?

Kindness to Self:
It is not effortless to turn our day around when we feel bad or down, but we are the only person responsible for having an amazing day or a terrifically horrible day. Remember, you are beautiful, talented, unique and capable of anything, including your attitude. Make sure it is a good one.
-
Kindness to Others:
It is not very easy to have a positive attitude when you have a screaming toddler, a moody teenager, a dissatisfied spouse or and angry boss. However, we have two choices, we can let their attitude change ours or we can choose to have the attitude that we want. Maybe if we choose an attitude of kindness, eventually those around us will catch it.
-
Kindness to Strangers:
There are times when people are not very kind to us, this is just another opportunity to choose what type of attitude we would like to have. Hopefully, we choose an attitude that believes in the goodness of all people.
